Dinosaur Party on Tour with Victorius

A power metal band from Germany, Victorius, recently released a new album titled "World War Dinosaur" and, to mark the occasion, they also organized a tour called "Tour of the Strong" together with Terra Atlantica and Aeon Gods. Unfortunately, this tour took place only in Germany, but sometimes it’s worth traveling.
In the end, I decided to attend two shows that were closest to us: one in Dresden on May 1, 2026, and one in Leipzig on May 2, 2026. On the first day, we went to a smaller club Pushkin and I decided to enjoy the evening to the fullest and didn't take any photos at all. The next day was at the bigger club Hellraiser and attendance was also higher.

The opening act was Aeon Gods, a relatively new band that’s practically unknown in the Czech Republic. They released their second album this past February and had plenty to showcase. I have to say that the second album is a bit better than the first, but overall, they didn’t really grab my attention. Fortunately, not many people in the audience shared my opinion, and the atmosphere was slowly heating up.

The next band, however, got the audience even more excited. The Pirate Band Terra Atlantica is, unfortunately, also relatively unknown here, and they don’t tour our country, but their performances are definitely worth seeing. Their songs are full of energy and quite catchy. It’s pretty hard not to get swept up in them and sing along loudly to the simple chorus lyrics. The setlist spanned various eras, from their latest singles like “Hoist the Sail” or “Land of Submarines” to their oldest tracks like “Atlantica.” It was my first time seeing them live, and while I was expecting a great party, this was even better. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of their time on stage. Unfortunately, the photos didn’t turn out very well because of the constant blue lighting.

Then it was time for a full-length show by my personal favorites Victorius full of their dino hits. It went without saying that they’d want to play and try out their new hits first and foremost, but that wasn’t all they played. The first five songs were all dinosaur-themed. They kicked things off with the opening track “Total T-Rex Terror” and followed up with fast-paced singles like “Raptor Squad Attack” and “Brachio Bazooka Battalion.” This was followed by a break with a few ninjas and the song “Shuriken Showdown.” I was mainly hoping for the song “Kingdom of the Strong,” and I got to hear it. Then came another mix of ninja and dino songs—not just the new ones, but also “Dinos and Dragons.” The biggest surprise of the evening for me was the song “Twilight Skies,” which I hadn’t heard live yet and had always wanted to. The evening concluded with the iconic songs “Dinosaur Warfare” and “Super Sonic Samurai.”

Both evenings had their own charm, but honestly, Saturday in Leipzig had a bit more energy, and the home crowd definitely helped. Still, it’s always a great experience to see Victorius and meet all those interesting people there. I’d love to do it again sometime.
