Here’s our report from the final day of Masters of Rock 2026, Sunday, July 19. The day started off fairly sunny again, and we began packing up already in the morning. I wasn’t feeling very fresh anymore, but I was hoping to still enjoy the last day. Unfortunately, the weather and my mood put a bit of a damper on my plans, so we left before the main evening program even started. But don’t worry—you won’t miss out on the report. Luckily, Céline stuck it out until the end and finished the report for you instead of me.
Packing, a walk around the grounds, and a thunderstorm
During the first three bands—Matanzick, Lunarsea, and Kimura—we were still packing up all our stuff, so I didn’t see any of them at all. I caught a little bit of their music from the campsite, but that doesn’t really count.
The first band I heard that day was Guiltera. They didn’t sound bad at all, and the band really gave it their all on stage to draw in more fans. Unfortunately, as has sometimes been the case in the last days of festivals, there weren’t that many people, and the atmosphere was a bit colder.
Next up was Crucified Barbara, who started their set but had to cut it short due to an approaching and intensifying storm. Not only did it rain really hard on us, but strong winds in the area also knocked out the power lines. Fortunately, the organizers were prepared and quickly arrived with a backup power source so that the show could continue at least on the main stage.
The first burst of energy after the rain, a calm interlude, and a celebration with Lordi
Enemy Inside finally could go on stage ten minutes later than scheduled, once the electricity was back on the main stage. The German band offered us a good show, with mostly songs from their last album. They also played their new singles, “Innocent” and “R.I.P”. They warmed up the crowd after the rain and finished with their hit “Phoenix”.
The Gathering was there with the singer Anneke van Giersbergen for a special 30th anniversary tour of the band. The alternative rock band was definitely the calmest band of the day and created a unique atmosphere during their show. There was something a bit magical, almost mystical, with songs like “In Motion #1” or “Analog Park”. The languid melodies soothed the crowd for most of the show. The end of their setlist was a bit more energetic and the show ended with “Saturnine”. The Gathering offered overall a nice calming voyage.
Lordi came to Masters of Rock to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album “The Arockalypse” as well as the birthday of their guitarist, Kone. At this occasion, they played most of the album, including their biggest hit: “Hard Rock Hallelujah”. They also played less common songs such as “Mr Killjoy”, for the pleasure of diehard fans. Lordi always creates a real spectacle with fire, smoke and accessories. This time was no exception and the celebration was a success!
Maskovaní muži a The Dope Show na Masters
For the first time Slaughter to Prevail performed at Masters of Rock and Alex Terrible said on several occasions how grateful he was to be there. The band’s brutal melodies kept the crowd headbanging until the end. After several moshpits and a huge wall of death, there was still energy left! The singer’s performance was truly impressive, as well as the musicians’: the drummer gave us an amazing drum solo. Slaughter to Prevail shook the stage as well as the crowd, for everyone’s pleasure!
Marilyn Manson ended Masters of Rock with the “One Assassination Under God” tour. He sang one of his new singles, “Exit Wound”, as well as older songs such as “The Dope Show”. He did his famous cover of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” and finished with Depeche Mode’s hit “Personal Jesus”. Marilyn Manson proved once again he knew how to do the show and captivate his audience. The memorable moment of the night: “Great Big White World” during which the lights of the crowd served as Manson’s constellations.
