The Premiere Live Performance of Dream of the Sun

It’s always fascinating to be there at the very beginning of a young band’s career when they have big dreams. I had the chance to witness debut live performance of the band Dream of the Sun on March 28 in the club Kamina boat.

This club isn't exactly the biggest, but that makes the atmosphere all the more interesting. It also helps when the crowd consists only of people who are genuinely interested. The audience was mostly made up of the band members' families and friends, but that only added to the great vibe in the club. The band Dream of the Sun released their debut album just a few months ago and wanted to show that it doesn’t end with the recording.
You can listen to the entire album below:

During the concert, they managed to play all ten of their original songs and show what they’re really made of. At times, the performance seemed a bit nervous, but that’s probably to be expected from a debut on stage in front of their closest friends and family. On the other hand, they certainly didn’t lack energy and enthusiasm. The guitars and drums kept a solid rhythm, and the audience gave everyone present tremendous support. For me, the weakest part of the performance was, unfortunately, the vocals. The vocalist excelled in his signature screams, just like on the album, but unfortunately, he struggled a bit in some of the high clean registers. I have to admit, though, that the entire evening was perfectly organized, and considering the band did everything themselves, everything worked out. Of course, aside from the band itself, the rest of the crew—including the sound engineer—had everything ready.

If you're interested in the band and would like to see them live, you can come support them as early as on April 21 to Rock Café, where they will open the night before Lansdowne.
