Na\u0161\u00edm hlavn\u00edm posl\u00e1n\u00edm je produkovat a pom\u00e1hat nez\u00e1visl\u00fdm um\u011blc\u016fm, kte\u0159\u00ed se dost\u00e1vaj\u00ed do hudebn\u00edho pr\u016fmyslu. Tak\u017ee se opravdu sna\u017e\u00edme starat o um\u011blce od zku\u0161ebny a v\u00e9st je a\u017e k vyd\u00e1n\u00ed CD a p\u0159\u00edpadn\u011b je\u0161t\u011b d\u00e1l. Je to t\u011b\u017ek\u00e9 posl\u00e1n\u00ed, proto\u017ee nem\u00e1m mo\u017enost pracovat jen s profesion\u00e1ly, ale sna\u017e\u00edm se pom\u00e1hat amat\u00e9r\u016fm st\u00e1t se profesion\u00e1ly. Je to n\u011bco, co \u010dlov\u011bk mus\u00ed opravdu vnit\u0159n\u011b c\u00edtit. A co tv\u00e9 osobn\u00ed projekty? V\u00edm, \u017ee vedle <\/em>Serenity hraje\u0161 v kapele <\/em>Perchta.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ano, Perchta je moment\u00e1ln\u011b v roce 2025 v klidov\u00e9m re\u017eimu z osobn\u00edch d\u016fvod\u016f, kter\u00e9 se mnou nesouvis\u00ed. Tak\u017ee bohu\u017eel nem\u016f\u017eu \u0159\u00edct v\u00edc a jsem \u00fapln\u011b stranou. To je \u0161koda a \u0159\u00edk\u00e1m to s t\u011b\u017ek\u00fdm srdcem, ale v tuto chv\u00edli k tomuto projektu nem\u016f\u017eu nic v\u00edc \u0159\u00edct. Na\u0161t\u011bst\u00ed pracuji na jin\u00fdch v\u011bcech. U\u017e \u0159adu let m\u00e1m v pohotovosti sv\u00e9 s\u00f3lov\u00e9 album, kter\u00e9 snad v jednu chv\u00edli spat\u0159\u00ed sv\u011btlo sv\u011bta. Ale hlavn\u011b pracuji na dal\u0161\u00edm projektu, o kter\u00e9m brzy usly\u0161\u00edte. Je to nov\u00fd projekt a stav\u00edme te\u010f sestavu. Prvn\u00ed zah\u0159\u00edvac\u00ed koncert u\u017e m\u00e1me napl\u00e1novan\u00fd na z\u00e1\u0159\u00ed, ozn\u00e1men\u00ed budou velmi brzy. A je to projekt, na kter\u00e9m pracuji u\u017e mnoho let. A kone\u010dn\u011b bude m\u00edt tak\u00e9 brzy premi\u00e9ru. Ale nem\u016f\u017eu \u0159\u00edct v\u00edc, proto\u017ee to v\u0161echno odhal\u00edme a ozn\u00e1m\u00edme v jednom bloku. Ale u\u017e te\u010f je zamluven\u00e1 prvn\u00ed show na leto\u0161n\u00ed z\u00e1\u0159\u00ed. Je to pro m\u011b velmi vzru\u0161uj\u00edc\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A co <\/em>Serenity, pracujete te\u010f na n\u011b\u010dem nov\u00e9m?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Pr\u00e1v\u011b o tom mluv\u00edme. V sou\u010dasn\u00e9 dob\u011b jsme na cest\u00e1ch a pl\u00e1nujeme dal\u0161\u00ed kroky. P\u0159esn\u011b te\u010f p\u0159em\u00fd\u0161l\u00edme o tom, kdy za\u010d\u00edt s produkc\u00ed dal\u0161\u00edho alba a kdy je ten spr\u00e1vn\u00fd \u010das nav\u00e1zat pak na turn\u00e9. Tak\u017ee se o tom mluv\u00ed p\u0159esn\u011b te\u010f.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Promluvme si o tvoj\u00ed historii. Pro\u010d jsi se v\u016fbec rozhodl hr\u00e1t na baskytaru?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Nepova\u017euji se pouze za baskytaristu, \u0159ekl bych za v\u0161estrann\u00e9ho baskytaristu, proto\u017ee m\u011b opravdu bav\u00ed ka\u017ed\u00fd n\u00e1stroj. Jsem schopen vz\u00edt a n\u011bco ud\u011blat s ka\u017ed\u00fdm, samoz\u0159ejm\u011b v\u010detn\u011b hlasu, proto\u017ee se v\u011bnuji tak\u00e9 zp\u011bvu. S baskytarou je to jednoduch\u00e9. Na bic\u00ed hraji a studuji je u\u017e mnoho let. Ale kdy\u017e jsem byl mal\u00fd, nesm\u011bl jsem m\u00edt doma bic\u00ed soupravu. Tak jsem nikdy nebyl dost zdatn\u00fd na to, abych se stal profesion\u00e1ln\u00edm buben\u00edkem. Bohu\u017eel pro m\u011b, proto\u017ee bic\u00ed jsou st\u00e1le n\u011bco, co ve mn\u011b opravdu zapaluje ohe\u0148. Kdy\u017e je poslouch\u00e1m, a dokonce i p\u0159i produkci, star\u00e1m se o bic\u00ed velmi precizn\u011b. Jak\u00e9 je tv\u00e9 nejobl\u00edben\u011bj\u0161\u00ed album <\/em>Serenity a jakou skladbu hraje\u0161 r\u00e1d na\u017eivo?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n P\u00e1ni, to je t\u011b\u017ek\u00e1 ot\u00e1zka. Mysl\u00edm, \u017ee se to hodn\u011b m\u011bn\u00ed v z\u00e1vislosti na turn\u00e9 a v z\u00e1vislosti na konstelaci, ve kter\u00e9 hrajeme. Mysl\u00edm, \u017ee prozat\u00edm ur\u010dit\u011b \u201eNemesis of AD\u201c. Mo\u017en\u00e1 to bude zn\u00edt lacin\u011b samoz\u0159ejm\u011b, proto\u017ee je to posledn\u00ed album, ale m\u00e1m pocit, \u017ee je to nejsiln\u011bj\u0161\u00ed album, kter\u00e9 m\u00e1me spole\u010dn\u011b s \u201eThe Last Knight\u201c. Ob\u011b alba, zejm\u00e9na d\u00edky Sa\u0161ov\u011b (Sascha Paeth<\/strong> pozn.<\/em>) pr\u00e1ci a p\u0159isp\u011bn\u00ed, jsou mi nejbli\u017e\u0161\u00ed. Ale samoz\u0159ejm\u011b m\u00e1m r\u00e1d i v\u0161echny star\u00e9 klasiky. Ur\u010dit\u011b jsem fanou\u0161kem prvn\u00edho alba, proto\u017ee tak jsem poznal Serenity<\/strong>. Kdy\u017e jsem je vid\u011bl hr\u00e1t na\u017eivo je\u0161t\u011b p\u0159edt\u00edm, ne\u017e jsem se k nim p\u0159idal, jako p\u0159edkapelu Kamelot<\/strong>u. V\u017edycky jsem m\u011bl obl\u00edben\u00e9 p\u00edsni\u010dky z ka\u017ed\u00e9ho alba. Ale ty se neust\u00e1le m\u011bn\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n M\u016f\u017eeme to zakon\u010dit n\u011bjak\u00fdm vzkazem pro metalov\u00e9 fanou\u0161ky a va\u0161e p\u0159\u00edznivce?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Cht\u011bl bych pod\u011bkovat v\u0161em, kte\u0159\u00ed to \u010dtou. Podporujte i nad\u00e1le \u017eivou hudbu a nez\u00e1visl\u00e9 kapely a kapely jako my, kter\u00e9 jezd\u00ed na turn\u00e9 a sna\u017e\u00ed se d\u011blat svou pr\u00e1ci s v\u00e1\u0161n\u00ed a nasazen\u00edm. So I was very happy when Fabio D’Amore<\/strong> promised me a few minutes of his time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It’s nice to meet you again. How are you enjoying to be on stage again?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, it’s really great. Also the period is favorable because it’s spring, it’s warm, we can stay outside also for this interview. And so we can enjoy a little bit of sun, which is not so bad. Yeah, it’s really nice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Let’s talk more about you and your other projects. Maybe about your studio.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, I’m managing a studio, Synonym of Sound<\/strong>. We’re actually working on a lot of stuff. Our main mission is always to produce and help independent artists getting into the business. So we are really trying to take care of the artists from the rehearsal room and guiding them to the CD release and even further possibly. It’s a tough mission because I don’t get to work only with pros, but I try to help the amateurs become pros. It’s something that you really have to feel inside. It’s not so easy because those musicians are mainly not living out of music, or in 95 % of the case they don’t live out of music, so the difficulties in making the productions are multiple due to their jobs, families and commitments. But I try to help them and give them a professional way to approach the entire pre-production and then production project process. It’s nice that someone else is helping these starting bands and starting artists.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As I repeat, it’s not easy. It’s something you really have to believe in and you go through a lot of struggles because personally, some of these musicians are not still ready to do certain things. They don’t know how to approach the process before the album release and after the album release. So it’s also a kind of psychologist’s work and but it’s something I really feel like I have to do for the business. For myself it’s very rewarding when it works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You are living in the music world for quite some time.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, 21 years this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Impresive. What about your personal project? I know next to <\/em>Serenity you are playing in <\/em>Perchta band.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, Perchta <\/strong>is at the moment in 2025 in standby due to personal reasons which are unrelated to me. So I cannot say more, unfortunately, and I’m totally out of it. So it’s a pity and I can say it with my heart, but there is nothing we can say at the moment about this project. Luckily, I’m working on other stuff. Since many years, I have my solo album in standby, which is hopefully at one point seeing the light. But mainly I’m working on another project that you will hear about very soon. It’s a new project and we are building also the lineup. We have already the first warm-up show scheduled for September, but there will be announcements very soon. And this is a project that I have worked on many years now. And finally it also will debut soon. But I cannot say more because we will reveal it and announce all in one block. But there is already the first show booked for this September. It’s very exciting for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And what about <\/em>Serenity, are you working on something new right now?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We are talking about it as we speak. Now, currently, we are on the road and we are planning the next steps. We are exactly now thinking about when to start the production process for the next album and when is the right time then to follow up with the tour. So it’s on the talk exactly now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Let’s talk about your history. Why do you even choose to play bass guitar?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, I don’t consider myself a bass player, all-round bass player I would say, because I really enjoy every instrument. I’m capable to take and do something out of it, including obviously my voice because I’m a vocal coach. The bass is a simple story. I’ve been playing drums and studying drums for many years. But when I was a kid, I wasn’t allowed to have a drum set at home. And so slowly, I obviously wasn’t fit enough to become a professional drummer, sadly, because drums are still something that really ignited my fire. When I listened to it and even when I do the productions, I take care of drums very accurately. What’s your favorite album of <\/em>Serenity and song to play live?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Wow, that’s a difficult question. I guess it’s changing a lot depending on the tour and depending on the constellation we play.\u00a0I think „Nemesis of AD“ is\u00a0definitely as for now, it might sound cheesy of course because it’s the latest album, but I feel like it’s the strongest album we have together with „The Last Knight“. Both albums, especially thanks to Sascha’s (Sascha Paeth<\/strong>)\u00a0work and contribution, it’s the albums I feel the most close to me. But of course I like also all the old classics. I’m for sure a fan of the first album because this is how I got to know Serenity<\/strong>.\u00a0 When I saw them playing live even before I joined, supporting Kamelot<\/strong>. I’ve always had favorite songs for each album. But they are constantly changing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Can we end it with some message for the metal fans and your fans<\/em>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I would like to thank everybody who is reading this. Te\u010f jsme dokonce s na\u0161\u00ed kolegyn\u00ed Christinou<\/strong>, kter\u00e1 se star\u00e1 o ve\u0161kerou marketingovou \u010d\u00e1st kapel, vytvo\u0159ili jsme konkr\u00e9tn\u00ed koncepty soci\u00e1ln\u00edch s\u00edt\u00ed a webdesignu. Kdy\u017e s n\u00e1mi spolupracuje kapela, um\u011blci se pak sna\u017e\u00ed, aby za nimi chodila profesion\u00e1ln\u00ed osoba, Christina, kter\u00e1 se o n\u011b m\u016f\u017ee starat, v\u00e9st je a vytv\u00e1\u0159et koncepty jejich specifick\u00fdch marketingov\u00fdch strategi\u00ed. Proto to, co se mnou nahraj\u00ed, nen\u00ed marn\u00e9, nen\u00ed to ztracen\u00e9. J\u00e1 jsem producent, tak\u017ee je \u010das, abych se rozlou\u010dil, kdy\u017e je master hotov\u00fd do dal\u0161\u00edho CD. Za\u010dal jsem poslouchat alba, kter\u00e1 m\u011b inspirovala, jako t\u0159eba \u201eBlood Sugar Sex Magik\u201c od Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/strong>, kter\u00e1 m\u011b opravdu uvedla do sv\u011bta groovov\u011bj\u0161\u00edch basov\u00fdch linek a n\u011b\u010deho, co m\u011b v hloubi du\u0161e opravdu pron\u00e1sleduje v groovech. To m\u011b postr\u010dilo k tomu, abych se na n\u00e1stroj pod\u00edval podrobn\u011bji. Na\u0161el jsem jednu pou\u017eitou basu, vzpom\u00edn\u00e1m si, \u017ee to bylo u\u017e d\u00e1vno, p\u0159ed v\u00edce ne\u017e 25 lety. Nejd\u0159\u00edv jsem ji p\u0159inesl sv\u00e9mu u\u010diteli na bic\u00ed, abych mu ji uk\u00e1zal, proto\u017ee on samoz\u0159ejm\u011b, jako ka\u017ed\u00fd velk\u00fd muzikant, um\u00ed hr\u00e1t trochu na v\u0161echno. A takhle jsem za\u010dal hr\u00e1t na basu. Z\u016fstal jsem u n\u00ed, proto\u017ee jsem se do n\u00ed z\u0159ejm\u011b tak\u00e9 zamiloval.
Jak opakuji, v\u011bt\u0161inu n\u00e1stroj\u016f zn\u00e1m a m\u00e1m je r\u00e1d. Jsem zamilovan\u00fd do v\u0161ech a na v\u0161echny se sna\u017e\u00edm hr\u00e1t. Um\u00edm hr\u00e1t na bic\u00ed, kytary, kl\u00e1vesy a klav\u00edr, zp\u00edvat a samoz\u0159ejm\u011b i na basu. Tak\u00e9 jen tak pro radost hraji na harfu, ale jsem \u00fapln\u00fd za\u010d\u00e1te\u010dn\u00edk. M\u00e1m jednu ve studiu, na kterou si hraju jen tak pro radost s\u00e1m, proto\u017ee se mi l\u00edb\u00ed jej\u00ed zvuk. We then guide them to be where I am exactly today, for example. Get them on a tour, how to behave, how to sell their merchandise, how to believe in their project, and trying to get them on. Now we even created specific social media and web designs concepts with our partner Cristina, who is taking care of all the marketing part of the bands. When you are a band working with us, you can also, or in most of the cases, the artists are then trying to be followed by a professional person, Christina, who can take care and guide them and create concepts on their specific marketing strategies. Therefore, what they record with me, it’s not vain, it’s not lost. I’m the producer, so it’s time for me to say goodbye when the master is finished until the next CD. But we try to guide them through her and through her experience to build packages of follow-up in the social medias, take care of the websites, taking care of electronic press kits for the labels. I try to help them in the process of getting in touch with the label and I try to make sure that they have a concept before they expose themselves. As I repeat, it’s tough because it’s not like working with an establishment. But of course, that time that it works and the band can make the step further, it’s very rewarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the bass came right after the drum love. I started to listen to albums that inspired me like „Blood Sugar Sex Magik“ from Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/strong> that really introduced me to the world of more groovy bass lines and something that really haunts me in the groove deep inside and this pushed me to take a look at the instrument. I found a used one, I remember it was a long time ago, over 25 years ago. And I actually brought it to my drum teacher just to show him, because he obviously, like every great musician, is able to play a little bit of everything. And he took the bass from the hard case and started to play it. I was like, yeah, it’s great. So I went home and I didn’t have an amp. And fun fact is that to be able to hear myself with an electric bass, I had the truss rod touching an empty cupboard, so that I could hear the bass out of the vibrations of the empty cupboard back to me. And this is the way I started to play bass.
I stay with it because I’m obviously also in love with it as I repeat, most of the instruments I know and I like. I’m in love with all of them and I try to play them all. I can play drums, guitars, keyboards and piano, singing and obviously the bass and I try my best. I am very beginner and just for fun a harp player. I have one in the studio I just play for fun by myself because I like the sound of it. But if you’re a music producer you need to take a look at as many instruments as possible so that you know what you’re talking about when you are producing them the bands.
