The Swedish progressive metal band Evergrey <\/strong>released their fifteenth album on the 5th of June, \u201cArchitects of A New Weave\u201d. Teased by four incredible singles, \u201cArchitects of The New Weave\u201d, \u201cThe World Is On Fire\u201d, \u201cLeaving The Emptiness\u201d and \u201cA Burning Flame\u201d, the album is as good as those songs made me hope it would be. The song released on the 6th of November 2025, \u201cOxygen\u201d, can be found on the second CD (Deluxe Version) and not in the album itself, which might be a bit disappointing to me as it was a song that truly seduced me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evergrey was founded in 1993 by the singer, songwriter, and guitarist Tom S. Englund <\/strong>with the now ex-guitarist Dan Bronell<\/strong>. Joined by the guitarist and newest member Stephen Platt<\/strong>, the drummer Simen Sandnes<\/strong>, the bassist Johan Niemann<\/strong> and the keyboardist Rikard Zander<\/strong> , Tom managed once again to create a unique album in which we can find the dark themes that are the band\u2019s imagery for years, but with a fresh wind of combativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album opens with \u201cWelcome to the Pattern\u201d, spoken words that are promises of something new, \u201cwe build a new weave, where the brave are reborn\u201d. Evergrey<\/strong> gives the plan of their new design.
\u201cThe Shadow Self\u201d comes next. A heavy song, in the riff and in its topic, but already with this questioning about reconnecting with ourselves. The guitars play punchy and strong riffs, carrying the shadow, while the keyboard theme comes and goes as touches of light, as twinkling stars. \u201cThe darkness is calling me\u201d, but Evergrey will go from shadows to starlight and the next song, \u201cArchitects Of The New Weave\u201d, definitely shows we won\u2019t get lost in the shadows for too long. \u201cWe\u201dre part of a waking sun\u201d and the band makes us stand and turns chaos into order. The rhythm played by the drum is regular, the keyboard is stronger and the riffs heavy but the darkness turns into combativity. \u201cFrom shadows to starlight, from fracture to form\u201d, this album is building order from chaos and you see this construction in the songs themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
