An energetic evening of metalcore at Futurum with Resolve

On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, I went to Smíchov to Futurum Music Bar for a great metalcore evening featuring four bands from different corners of the world. The main stars of the evening were the French Resolve, special guests on the tour are Australian Windwaker and the evening was opened by the French Ashen and British Tropic Gold.

The first to take the stage were Tropic Gold and right on time. Not many people in the room expected them to kick off the evening with such intensity. From the very first notes, the atmosphere was electric, and it wasn't long before the first mosh pit started. Once again, I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but the energy on stage and in the audience convinced me that it wasn't going to be a bad evening at all. The first band was a good example of this, and even though I didn't find it particularly mind-blowing, I was drawn in by the support of the other attendees.

If the first band was energetic, then the second band to perform, Ashen, was even more intense. All five members stormed onto the stage at a rapid pace and made the most of their time. The audience enjoyed a mosh pit, circle pit, and even a wall of death. They slowed down a bit for one song, and the lights from cell phones lit up the hall. Their youthful energy was tangible, and even though the music wasn't anything special, they definitely deserved the support they received.

The third band on stage was Australian Windwaker, who were performing in Prague for the first time in history. And it was a spectacular premiere. They radiated greater experience, but no less vitality. Their music combines several different influences, mainly modern music, including electric effects and rap. With their melodies and stage presence, they got me moving more than the previous bands, and I have to say that they were the biggest surprise of the evening for me.

The conclusion of the evening belonged to the more famous French Resolve. I have to admit that they had the best lighting and the sound was much better tuned, but they barely matched the energy of their opening acts. Unfortunately, as is often the case with such long evenings, I ran out of energy by the time the last band came on. When they slowed down with an acoustic song, I couldn't take it anymore. Their performance didn't interest me enough to stay longer.

I must say that I am delighted to see so many young people attending live music events and supporting their favorite artists. This is very important for the entire music industry, and without it, we would have nothing to write about. Therefore, I would like to thank the entire organization RFP Concertsfor bringing many interesting artists to our country.
