I když se koná spousta open-air festivalů, 5. července 2025 jsme se přes to vydali do klubu Colos-Saal v Aschaffenburgu, abychom si užili release show nejnovějšího alba Warkings, “Armageddon”. Jejich speciálním hostem byla kapela Hammer King.
Hned po otevření dveří se konala autogramiáda s velkolepými Warkings. Všichni přítomní fanoušci si mohli nechat podepsat nové CD a promo karty nebo se vyfotit s kapelou. Také jsem se tam vydala, abych si popovídala a získala pár autogramů.
Potom už jsme museli počkat do osmi na začátek vystoupení skupiny Hammer King. Ti svou show zahájili velice populární skladbou “Pariah Is My Name” a hned od začátku to pořádně rozjeli. Poprvé jsem je viděla v nové pětičlenné sestavě s mladou posilou, novým druhým kytaristou Sirem Marexem. I přes lehkou nervozitu si myslím, že to kapely dobře zapadá a je fajn slyšet z pódia opět dvě kytary. Také musím zmínit, že zpěvákovi a frontmanovi Titanu Foxovi V. svědčí, že odložil svoji kytaru a může se tak více soustředit na zpěv a také na spolupráci s publikem.
Kromě již prověřených skladeb jako “Awaken The Thunder” nebo “Hammerschlag” jsme mohli slyšet nejnovější single “Make Metal Royal Again” z připravovaného alba. Na úplný závěr vystoupení zvolili jednu z nejstarších skladeb “Kingdom of the Hammer King”, kdy do publika vypustili několik zlatých nafukovacích balónů.
Po další chvíli čekání zazněl z repráků asi všemi metalisty známý song “Warriors of the World” od Manowar a vrchol večera mohl začít. Na úvod nesmělo chybět intro s představením všech čtyř původních členů Warkings a začali skladbou “The Last Battle” následovanou další skladbou z prvního alba “Never Surrender”.
Na třetí skladbu se objevila také poslední členka kapely, čarodějnice Morgana Le Fay, aby mohli představit první skladbu nového alba toho večera a to “Kings of Ragnarök”. Z alba “Armageddon” zazněly během večera všechny vydané singly, titulní skladba “Armageddon”, “Genghis Khan” i v živé premiéře “Hangman’s Night”.
Show doplnili dalšími velice populárními skladbami. Včetně třeba skladby “We Are the Fire” na kterou se na pokyn kapely rozjel slušný circle pit. Na úplný závěr nechyběl ani úplně první vydaný single “Gladiator”.
Nejenom fanoušci, ale i celá kapela si večer velice užívala. Nebylo to jen klasické vystoupení, která normálně bývají plná energie a dobré muziky, ale tentokrát se více vtipkovalo a celkově byla atmosféra na pódiu uvolněnější.
Samozřejmě takovéto akce by nebyly tak zábavné bez pořádných fanoušků a to obou skupin. Také musíme přičíst velké zásluhy celé crew obou skupin, bez nich by to také nešlo. Největší poděkování ale patří členům vystupujícím za jejich představení a energii, kterou do celého večera museli investovat.
Obě skupiny vyrážejí na tour hned na začátku příštího roku, nebo je můžete ještě během léta odchytit na nějakém festivalu.

Even though there are a lot of open-air festivals around, on 5 July 2025 we headed to the Colos-Saal club in Aschaffenburg to enjoy the release show of Warkings‘ latest album, “Armageddon”. Their special guest was the band Hammer King.
Right after the doors opened, there was a signing session with the mighty Warkings. All the fans present could get the new CDs and promo cards signed, or take a picture with the band. I went too, to chat and get some autographs.
Then we had to wait until eight o’clock for Hammer King to start their performance. They kicked off their show with the very popular song “Pariah Is My Name” and got things going right from the start. It was the first time I saw them in their new five-piece lineup with a young addition, new second guitarist Sir Marex. Despite a slight nervousness, I think the band fits well together and it’s nice to hear two guitars on stage again. I must also mention that singer and frontman Titan Fox V. benefits from putting down his guitar so he can focus more on singing and interacting with the audience.
In addition to tried and tested songs such as “Awaken The Thunder” and “Hammerschlag,” we heard the latest single “Make Metal Royal Again” from the upcoming album. At the very end of the performance, they chose one of their oldest songs, “Kingdom of the Hammer King,” during which they released several golden balloons into the audience.
After another moment of waiting, the song “Warriors of the World” by Manowar, familiar to all metalheads, rang out from the speakers, and the highlight of the evening could begin. The intro with the introduction of all four original members of Warkings was a must, and they started with the song “The Last Battle,” followed by another song from their first album, “Never Surrender.”
For the third song, the last member of the band, Morgana Le Fay, appeared on stage to introduce the first song from the new album, “Kings of Ragnarök.” All the singles released from the album “Armageddon” were played during the evening, including the title track “Armageddon,” “Genghis Khan,” and the live premiere of “Hangman’s Night.”
The show was completed with other very popular songs, including “We Are the Fire,” which started a decent circle pit at the band’s request. At the very end, the first single “Gladiator” was played.
Not only the fans, but also the entire band enjoyed the evening very much. It wasn’t just a classic performance, which are usually full of energy and good music, but this time there was more joking around and the atmosphere on stage was more relaxed overall.
Of course, such events would not be as entertaining without dedicated fans of both bands. We must also give credit to the entire crew of both, without whom it would not have been possible. However, the biggest thanks go to the band members for their performances and the energy they invested in the entire evening.
Both bands are going on tour at the beginning of next year, or you can catch them at some festival during the summer.
